Grand Army of the Republic banner -- "Welcome Comrades"

This is a very nice banner in exceptional condition. It's silk-screened in federal Red and Blue on white cotton muslin fabric.

NOT a reproduction, it's "new old stock" -- a banner that would be hung during GAR encampments / reunions. We believe it's from the 1940s, as the last GAR encampment was in Indianapolis in 1949.

Banner measures 36" x 23 1/2"

Edges are raw, not hemmed, and there is no loop for a rod to hang it as seen with some similar banners. Basically, it was printed and the extras were stored away. Was stored folded in half. No discoloration, wear, or fading. Acquired from an Ohio printer who retired many years ago -- we have several other, different banners from this estate as well.

What a great display piece for any Civil War aficionado!

Will be shipped folded in eighths (it's not a particularly fragile piece, but we will ship in a cello sleeve with cardboard for protection) unless otherwise requested (such as rolled in a tube).
