English Burled Walnut Octagon Trumpet Sewing Table Mid-19th C.
This elegant Victorian-era sewing table is a beautiful example of English craftsmanship from the mid-1800s. Made from richly burled walnut, it features a distinctive octagonal shape and a classic trumpet-style pedestal base with ornate carved feet—both hallmarks of high-quality furniture from the period.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a divided interior with lined compartments, once used to hold sewing notions, tools, and threads. A central hollow compartment was designed to store your in-progress work. Though the silk lining on the interior lid is worn, and the top has minor unevenness and a small burn mark, the piece retains incredible character and charm. It includes a key, though the lock mechanism is currently non-functional.
